Oden recognizes outstanding employees
(Memphis, Tenn.) — Five Oden employees recently earned special recognition for their outstanding contributions to the company and community in 2008. The employees were selected by their co-workers to receive “NEDO” awards, the firm’s
highest honor.
The honorees are Anna Barnes, Associate Account Manager; Lisa Christensen, Writing Director; Eric Fonville, Director of Technology; Dianne Higgenbottom, Receptionist; and Christy Sharp, Senior Director of Client Services. In the nine years since the NEDO was established in 2000, Higgenbottom has been recognized with the award eight times; Christensen, three; Fonville, two; and Sharp, two. This is Barnes’ first award.
“Oden is a firm full of great people who do great work,” says Bill Carkeet, principal and CEO. “In the past year, these five individuals have shown an especially strong commitment to making Oden a great company to work for and to do business with.”
Each year, Oden employees, or Odenites, vote to determine which of their co-workers will receive NEDO awards. The name is short for Notable Excellence as Deemed by Odenites and, coincidentally, is “Oden” spelled backward.
“NEDO winners are ‘the complete package.’ In addition to excelling at their jobs, they are respected for their dependability, teamwork skills, positive attitude, and acts of kindness,” continues Carkeet. “Each year, some Odenites represent themselves and Oden at a level that deserves extra recognition. The fact that this recognition comes from a vote of their peers makes it even more special.”
